Dunedin Canmore Youth Projects
Dunedin Canmore Youth Projects is an innovative partnership between Dunedin Canmore Housing Limited and City of Edinburgh Council's Community Learning & Development service. Our youth services are developed with our partners in Gorgie/Dalry, Oxgangs , Moredun/Hyvots and Gracemount and include: street work, youth cafés, employability services, environmental projects and youth participation work.

Our services at Slateford Green Community Centre include;

  • Employability Drop-In for 16-19 year olds. Every Tuesday 1-3pm. The Activity Agreement Coach offers support for young people looking to access employment, education, training and volunteering opportunities.

Garvald Edinburgh - Orwell Arts
Inspired by the work of Rudolph Steiner, Garvald provide diverse and creative day opportunities for adults with learning disabilities. Having outgrown their existing premises Garvald acquired the former Dalry Primary School in the city in 2007 and launched the highly successful Orwell Arts Centre.
Gate 55 (former Westburn Primary School)
Gate 55 is a community hub providing library and support services, clubs for all ages, parent groups, exercise classes and access to learning, training, employment and Beauty treatments. The activities on offer range from Everyday English to Book Clubs and Homework help.

Gorgie City Farm
The city farm is open every day 9.30-4.30 during British Summer time and 9.30-4 in Winter. We are closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. A fully accessible child-friendly working farm which has a range of farm animals and birds to see, including pets. There are a range of educational and volunteering opportunities. There is a play park, cafe, toilets, produce stall and several gardens.
